Jackie Jean Cady Jackie Jean Cady of Olathe, KS, passed away on July 7, 2005. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday July 12, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service. Inurnment 1:30 p.m., in Cadmus Cemetery, Cadmus, KS. Jackie was born March 9, 1954 in Kansas City, MO, to Howard and Mabel Lillard, the second of two daughters. She attended Kansas City public schools, graduating from Southwest High School in 1972. She lived most of her life in the Kansas City Metro area, exception being three years in IL. Jackie married Dale Chapman in 1972. Two children were born to this union. This marriage was dissolved in 1978. In 1985 she married Gene Cady in Skokie, IL, and lived in Schaumberg, IL, in 1988 they returned to the Kansas City area and resided in Olathe until her death. Jackie was employed by American Telephone and Telegraph from 1977 until 1985. Her parents preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband Gene of the home; daughter Lori Jean Chapman, Topeka, KS; son Jason Dale Chapman, Kansas City, MO; sister Linda Kay and husband Alan Earls, Stanley, KS; and one niece and one nephew. Hi Ron Grovenor...Noticed a couple of your postings on this message board. Actually there is a specific website for the Class of 1975. If you scroll to the top of this page and click on the "Find Your Class" tab you can actually pick the class year 1975 which has its own Class Notes/Message Board. The reunion company was only offered so many rooms at the Embassy Suites which would be "blocked" for our class. We had twenty rooms which have all been booked by alumni and they added five more today and that is the most they will offer. The list of reservations for the reunion event far exceeds the number of rooms reserved. It should be a great time. Also Pam and Bill Meeker are from the Class of 1976. Bill Meeker, as you know, actually set up this great website, however, he and Pam are not involved in the organizing of the Class of 1975 Reunion. If you have any questions or we can assist you further, please feel free to go to page for our class and post your questions. Glad to hear you plan to travel from Arizona to KC for the event, Ron. Frank Storm, class of 1973 passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2006, of cancer. He was an all-state tackle on the 1972 state championship football team and until his death lived one block south of Southwest High School. Frank owned the Max's Auto Diner Restaurant. John, You might try and see if there is someone in your class who can get their hands on the Commencement Bulletin for your class. That, or you can make a list of your classmates from the Sachem. Who was the head of your committee at your last reunion? Perhaps they have a data base. Once you have compiled some sort of list you can contact a reunion company such as Class Act Reunions 913 851-4244 and they are really helpful in launching reunion ideas and their price is incorporated into ticket sales and is quite reasonable. ++++++++++Class of '89++++++++++ The Dream has become a reality! Your 20-Year Reunion Committee has formed and already settled on a Date for our Class Reunion! Friday, August 15, and Saturday, August 16, 2009 are the magic dates to attend! ******************Class of 1990**************** Is there anyone out there from the class of 1990. My name is Chris Link. I joined the Army and moved away right after high school and haven't been back. An old friend from school (Mike Chalk) called me the other day and we had a good time catching up. I'd really enjoy catching up with some more of you. If there is anyone else that would like to reminisce, please contact me. I was told the school is closed, how sad. Had a lot of good times there. Douglas Panknin, 52, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away June 28 at his home. Douglas was born Sept. 17, 1955, in Kansas City to Jerry and JoAnne Panknin. He attended Southwest High School, Wentworth Military Academy, and UMKC before joining the Army in 1972. After the military he followed in the family tradition working as a general contractor. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law. Survivors include his wife, Lynne; daughter, Samantha; brother, Steve and wife Jane Panknin; sister, Debra and husband Butch Holcomb; nieces and nephews, Merritt and husband Kevin Engel, Bob and wife Lorin Panknin, Jerry and Bo Panknin, Nick and wife Khadiga Holcomb, John Panknin; mother-in-law, Jackie Sanders; brother-in-law, Bob Sanders; and sister-in-law, Debbie Kramer. Survivors also include numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be deeply missed by all.
